The 'accidental' Story Behind Crutch Butler
Some might call Kevin Poe accident-prone. He calls it great experience for inventing Crutch Butler.
A sports injury while Kevin was in college at the University of Missouri left him with a broken leg…and no hands to hold his stuff! As a busy college student, Kevin realized that he needed something to hold his belongings while maneuvering the Mizzou campus on crutches, and he fashioned a holder out of a cup and some tape. This wasn't unusual for Kevin - as the son of an engineer, he grew up tinkering with all kinds of objects, working to make them better and easier to use.
Although Kevin ended up with a career in finance, Kevin never gave up his passion for tinkering or his idea for improving crutches. Twenty years and several crutch-worthy injuries later, Kevin developed his homemade solution into the super efficient and stylish Crutch Butler.
